Africa IS the world

Listening to “We are the world”, a song created as a benefit for famine relief in Africa in the 1980’s got me thinking. You hear companies for example say, “We have offices in Europe, the Americas, Asia and the world.” Africa is usually never explicitly mentioned. So I conclude that Africa must be “the world”.
